Greetings from the studio

Greetings from the studio

I'm going to start this blog with a guarantee...You all are going to LOVE our CD when it comes out early next year. If you do not absolutely love it, I will personally mow your lawn. But you have to supply the lawnmower.
So with that guarantee, I guess it's not neccessary to mention that things are rolling right along down in the studio. As of last night, drums and bass are completely tracked, and 80% of the guitar is down. I'm telling you, there are going to be some monster tracks on this disc. Not only are the performances top notch, but the engineering is exceptional and I have to give mad props to Sam for his engineering work. The simpleton in me always thought that the job was done once the signal went into the board. You know, hit 'record' and you're good to go, right? Well, that's not true. He is working some serious magic with mic selection, placement, editing, and just making this whole process very fun. My big concern at the start of this project was that we wouldn't be able to accurately capture the true beauty that is QN, but Sam has been able to do that and I have personally learned a ton by watching him work.
Here's where you all come in..... We've shut down the recording for a few weeks in order to play a few shows. We haven't seen your shiny happy faces in a long time. Well, since our Willamina show back in September. We would love to see everybody. Stop in, say hi, and hear a few QN songs you haven't heard yet. Here's where we'll be. We're covering alot of territory to bring a little something for everybody.
11/19(Sunday) - Ash Street Saloon w/Poncho Luxurio and David Harrington
12/1(Friday) - Crystal Ballroom. Sorry, private party. If I could sneak you all in I would.
12/8(Friday) - Cornerstone Coffee Roasters in McMinnville.
Also for all you down in the Willamina area, there are rumblings that we are going to be back sometime in January. We will post the date once it's confirmed so it will give you time to lock up the women and children :)
Well I guess that's it for now. I'm looking forward to playing as a band again. I'm in a great band with some great people and I can speak for the band in saying that we are excited to play for you all again and for you to hear our CD. And remember that guarantee!
We'll see ya out there!!
